Since the new year I have been absolutely swamped at work… Sewing til there have been holes in my fingers! But I finally got a little break and was able to do some sewing for myself!
I have been hoarding this pattern for a few years and finally found the fabric I wanted to use for it this past month while out shopping for Spamalot! With summer coming up, a fun floral seemed perfect!
The dress went together well even though I threw the directions out the window! Now I need a day warm enough and sunny to take a pic and show you!
As 2012 comes to a close I had decided many things…
1. I have loved doing my 365 with Chai, my T42 blythe doll. I will do another one with Perique my Rosie Red blythe I adopted in January.
2. Life is stressful. Work is stressful. But you can’t let those things take over. And so that I do not lose sight of the good stuff I am making a gratitude journal. A place where I will write down 1 thing per day which put a smile on my face or made me feel special.
As many of you may have noticed I haven’t posted in a while. Well I am not writing much right now… because I am working with my husband on a joint project… The Story of Alley the Cat.
He has been journaling our adventures of taking care of a stray kitty, while I have been photographing her… She is the sweetest little lady with 2 kittens and no family. So please check out our little project and let us know what you think…
At least in Philly it is… This week we are hitting the 70’s everyday!! A bit odd for March but at least it brings with it some pretty flowers!!
I thought that since it has been almost 2 years on my site that a little re-vamping was needed… So we have an awesome new header with my logo designed my the most awesome Squirrel Junkie… as well as a lovely big link at the top to my shop… Nothing majorly different other than that besides a little internal house keeping. But that is always useful. I do hope you all enjoy and if anyone has comments, concerns or just want to say hi… please do!!
Thank you all for visiting and have a fabulous weekend!!
Chai, my T42 Blythe and I will be venturing on a journey this year. A photo a day! What can I say but obviously I am a glutton for punishment. I cannot promise the stars and the moon but we do have a few tricks up our sleeve that “may” help. And hopefully it will help that this is a challenge brought on by my favorite and only sister- Stephanie!
Chai is resting up since we start our journey tomorrow…
The latest in my life is that my husband and I have decided to adapt a vegetarian life. For him it is a first and for myself… well a long time coming in returning to a lifestyle I stupidly departed from. But this time around as a vegetarian I am doing things a bit different. I was raised a vegetarian, it wasn’t just a choice for me, it was the only way my parents could get me to eat. Then we relied pretty heavily on meat substitutes. Now… I am choosing to not use them, but to honestly eat just my veggies! With the exception of the occasional Morning Star Farms corn dogs… so tasty and hard to give up!
So with that being said I have started the journey to find even more tasty ways to make and eat all the beautiful veggies out there. And I am writing them down. Not to write a cookbook but to keep track of them! Matt and I make a weekly trip to the Farmer’s market to see what is there and fresh and write a menu for the week based off of the veggies in season.
In the 2.5 months that we have been eating this way, both Matt and I, have felt healthier and much better about our environment. Not to mention how much we save on our grocery bill! The menu for this past week was as follows:
Monday- Tofu Noodle Soup
Tuesday- Portobello Steaks, Sauteed Summer Squash, Herb Roasted Potatoes
Wednesday- Portobello, Onion, Spinach Quiche
Thursday- Pinto Bean Spinach Soft Tacos
As we continue on this journey, I’d like to make it a goal to include an AMAZING recipes I find here. As well as any horribly bad ones to help anyone who wants a tasty healthy alternative to a burger and fries now and then. 🙂
