I’m gonna be a guest on Topstitch.org!!

Blythe is an amazing dolly! And so are the people who know her! Through a darling friend of mine, EricaDuh I have gotten to know another awesome seamstress, crafter, photographer, blogger – Yoyo. Yoyo’s blog, Topstitch.org is an awesome one and Yoyo has generously asked me to write a tutorial for her site… Not only am I seriously flattered but also EXCITED!!!!

So I’m curious internet friends and peeps… what kind of tutorial would you like to see… dolly related or human? As you all know I am happy to do either! I just love to be behind my sewing machine! So leave me a comment and let me know what you are wanting to see me make, and run over to Yoyo’s site and check it out!

70’s Blythe Pantsuits project

As many of you have seen on my Flickr stream recently I have started making pantsuits for Blythe inspired by the 70’s when Blythe was introduced. I’d live to make a total of 40 to celebrate 40 years of Blythe! But I’d also like to make them in colors and pattern you will enjoy! Please leave me a comment or email me and let me know what you’d like to see!

I’ve had a little bit of interest in the pant suit I recently made and just thought I’d put it out there that I would be happy to either make some for my shop or do custom orders. Feel free to comment here or email me for pricing… brasscupcakes@yahoo.com

4/366…

Me- Chai, what are you doing?
C- Drinking your hot chocolates from Auntie Stephie to stay warm.
Me- But that’s for me! And what happened to you only changing once a week for your 366?? You don’t have that many outfits!
C- But I couldn’t go to work today in that party dress. It’s freezing out! Now, can you get me a warm up? And maybe a blanket too? Thanks.

A new girl moves in…

A new family member showed up yesterday… Daisy Mae! She’s a Hujoo Berry with faceup. I’m enjoying her very much but Chai is a bit nervous about sharing the attention around here with her. Not to mention her wardrobe.

Always a sad day to me…

DH and I love to decorate the house for Christmas… Well for any holiday really. So the day we take down the decorations is always a little sad to me. At least today Chai was able to help us pack up all of our Christmas goodies…

Blythe Ambassador

For you who know me well, you know that I carry one of my Blythes with me every single day, along with my camera. But for the people I encounter everyday, many of them do not have a clue about my girls. This morning, I had Sydney with me, my ADG Effluo custom girly… who has quite the attitude!  Since it is a dreary rainy day here, and I had promised Syd a few pics today, I pulled her out of my bag while on the bus to work to snap a quick pic from my phone. That was when it happened… all of the ladies around me on the bus started nudging each other and pointing!! At me! Or rather I should say at Syd!

As my fellow Blythe friends know, I have converted quite a few people onto Blythe fanatics… so here we go again! I told the ladies the story of Blythe and about her history, as well as about my meager collection. Most of the ladies just smiled and nodded, I’m sure thinking that I am a bit of a nutter! But one lady was absolutely interested as she held Syd and snapped pics herself with her phone. I explained that most Blythes spend their time harassing their humans to take photos of them and that we post them to Flickr. This prompted her to ask for my Flickr info… which I gave her on one of my Moo cards. As we pulled in to Philadelphia, the group of ladies made my promise to show them each one of my girls, including Trixie my newest addition, a 5StarDoll Lura ball jointed doll.

So yet again, I have found that no matter who you are or how old you are, Blythe can and will win the hearts of everyone she meets.

Here is the pics I took which made all the ladies start asking about Blythe and getting to know a little bit more about me.

Calling all Customizers and Craftsters!

Dearest Blythe Friends,

Many of you know Rob & Sioux, FroggyMonkey, Wendy of tinysea and Michelle from Blythelife.com. They and myself have been working on a plan to help Rob’s niece Alissia who is fighting a rare form of brain cancer and just had a stem cell transplant. Her family needs your help to cover the mounting medical costs of her care.

Do you want to help us out?? Are you a Blythe customizer?? Do you make awesome hats, dresses, or Blythe accessories? Then you can help us. We are looking for a customizer to donate their services as well as craftsters and artisans to donate hand made items for an auction to raise funds to be donated to Alissia’s family to cover their mounting medical expenses.

If you’re not the crafty kind, you can still help! We will also be accepting items such as nib re-ment, etc. Or if you’d like to make a monetary donation, please check out her parents’ site4alissia.blogspot.com as well as to keep up to date on her progress.

If you are interested in donating your skills, you may leave us a comment on our website which we have set up for the auction 4alissia.com or you may contact any of us via Blythe Kingdom.

Thank you.
